APS is currently in the process of evaluating demographic information, projected enrollment numbers and facility capacity at all elementary, middle and high schools system-wide.  The demographers hired by APS have presented four options for addressing capacity issues at all the APS schools in the district.  These options are based solely on the numbers they collected, and do not represent any input from the community, APS, or academicians.  Superintendent Davis has made it very clear that absolutely no decisions have been made, and these are simply preliminary options for addressing capacity at APS.

We are now entering the first of a two-phased community feedback process.  Now through December 16th, APS is requesting feedback from the community on the options presented.  That feedback will be collected and reviewed, and a new set of proposed options will be presented to us after the beginning of the new year.  At that point, APS will schedule additional community meetings, where feedback on the new options will once again be collected. Then, during March or April, APS will present its recommendations to the Atlanta School Board for action.

Please take a few minutes to review all of the information, educate yourself about the options and make your voice heard by completing the Comment Form.  Please be as specific as possible with your concerns in the "Comments" section (indicate what you like / don't like about each of the options).  Additional comments may be sent to apsdemographicstudy@atlantapublicschools.us.  This is the best way to communicate your opinions / concerns to APS.
